Beginners to BDSM

We often get emails on how to start your journey into BDSM, no matter what you identify with ( Dominant or submissive ) you've got to start somewhere.

Reading books are fine, some really good books on the subject are around. However getting to know adults of like mind is the key to a good start. You may need some tutorials eventually, or maybe you're hands on and in need of a teacher to show you the ropes ( if that's what you're into, Shibari ).

The very best place to start no matter what stage you're at is at a Munch, a munch is a non-kinky event set in a vanilla environment say a restaurant or coffee shop. Meeting up with like minded adults is a great way to find out about upcoming events you should first attend, but book mark us so you can find out time/locations. You have to be some what informed before going to a Munch.

There's also taboo or illegal types of play you should stay away from or not even consider as most will not discuss those subjects with you. They have learned from in the past that you should not even consider these subjects.

Also know that BDSM is NOT abuse, it has to be some form of Consensual before you begin, you need to learn that even though what BDSM'ers or Kinksters do can look quite violent, it isn't as both parties have the right to negotiate their limitations and also call the scene if things go side ways. Some may disagree with this statement but this is what the current law dictates!

You can further your education by not just attending munches, by reading ( Our BDSM book selection http://fetvancouver.com/vancouver-fetish-directory/bdsm-books ) on the subject, educating yourself which also empowers yourself!
