Two General Rules of Etiquette in the BDSM world.

 Etiquette in the BDSM world

With theses two General Rules, or guidelines if you prefer, in addition to any specialized or event specific ones,  you can navigate any BDSM Social Event

1.) “Seek to Never do anything that is unpleasant to others.” - Emily Post
2.) “Treat others as you would be treated”. Original Golden Rule

Now #2 is largely a restatement of #1. Remember, there are always caveats and provisos and such, when it comes to Etiquette, the Rules tend to be Subjective. Which some will try to say means that there is no such thing as etiquette or that you have Morals or Ethics. These are EMO Ass Hat Trolls. Just so you know. Between using these two rules as a general guideline you should be able to navigate nearly any Social Event and recover from any Social Gaff, if sincere. Remember, the application these will become the basis of your reputation within the community.

If you seek to never make someone uncomfortable, and not just for or in the moment, which tends to make one too much like an untrustworthy politician considered two faced and prone to lying, yet for the long term, then you will be seen as Honest, Sincere, and Polite.

If you seek to treat others as you would have them treat you, then you will find that if you hold a door while standing to one side, that it is appreciated by all but the most sensitive of people who are hurting inside, looking for a fight to validate their hurt… anyway, you will find that many will say thank you or even give you a phone number. In any case, all will remember your thoughtfulness and kindness and general politeness and will want to have you around… If you seek to do so at Events or when interacting with others, they will remember and cut you slack that you might not otherwise have and may just need.

And thus you will be and or have navigated your way through Events and general life much easier..

Or so goes my experience with it.
